Alison Allen (nee Clarke)

After fourteen years as a single missionary in Romania, Alison is now adjusting to life as a housewife in East Anglia, whilst continuing her involvement in Romanian missionary sending. Alison is now focussing on writing and research. She is a freelance writer, speaker and translator.

John Andrews

John worked at Mattersey Hall College and is pastor of a large church (Renewal Centre) in Birmingham. He teaches on Luke’s Gospel and has authored ten books: Truthformation, Rest, Hope, Loved, Mission is Like a Box of Chocolates, Moving Beyond Mediocrity, Identity Theft, The real F word, First Day – Discovering the Freedom of Sabbath-centric Living and his latest book 2:52 – Learning to Grow on Purpose.

Phil Andrews

Phil was Editor of Closer to God for seven years and now explores the gospel through writing, particularly comedy. He is married to Nic and lives in God's own Milton Keynes.

Andy Angel

Andy Angel is the Vice Principal of St John’s College Nottingham where he teaches New Testament. He loves finding God in Scripture and Life.

Mike Archer

Mike is Vicar of Highfield Church, Southampton. He is married to Sarah and they have two children, Mims and Sam.

David Arscott

David lives in Yorkshire and works with people experiencing homelessness. He feels privileged to have such a practical job, sharing something of God’s kingdom with the poor. He is married to Kate and has two grown up sons. He likes walking, skiing, reading and is not very good at golf.

Marjorie Austin

Marjorie learned to love the Bible through attending summer Faith Camps and trained as a Bible Teacher. She works full-time as a school secretary. Her hobbies include Scottish dancing and fell-walking.

Esther Bailey

Esther works for Scripture Union Scotland in the Scottish Borders and in the Europe Region. She grew up in Zimbabwe, where she trained as a primary school teacher. In 1983, she came to Britain on holiday, met her husband and is still on holiday 34 years later! She and her husband John have two adult daughters. She loves to see animals in the wild, whether foxes or rabbits in UK, or elephants and lions in Africa.

Fiona Barnard

Fiona Barnard works as an ESOL/TEFL teacher in St Andrews, Scotland. She is also on the staff of Friends International encouraging Christians to reach out to international students in friendship, evangelism, and discipleship.

Dave Bass

Dave is an award-winning filmmaker as well as a vlogger, comedian and actor. He is a presenter on ITV at the Movies on ITV2 and has met the Queen.

Andy Bathgate

Andy lives in Edinburgh and would not want to live anywhere else! He is married to Alyson and they are proud grandparents of Ellis. They are part of Craiglockhart Parish Church where they are elders.

Fran Beckett OBE

Fran Beckett OBE is a community activist as well as a speaker and consultant in leadership, governance and charity development. In 2014 she was also Chair of Orbit Housing and Urban Expression and has been a member of Restore (Peckham) an experimental inner-city church plant and a charity consultant and trainer. Fran has written various books and articles including Called to Action (Collins Fount), Rebuild (IVP).

Cornelis Bennema

Cor has a passion to train and motivate people to think biblically, critically and contextually in order to serve in the Church and society. He is Senior lecturer in New Testament at Union School of Theology Bridgend.

Antony Billington

Antony is Head of Theology at the London Institute for Contemporary Christianity. Prior to joining LICC in 2007, Antony taught Hermeneutics and Biblical Theology at London School of Theology for 16 years. He enjoys spending time with his family, reading, and working his way through DVD box sets of quality TV series.

Jon Birch

Jon is a freelance animator, illustrator and music producer. He describes himself as 'someone who makes a living out of what he used to do in the margins of his school books'. Jon is a co-founder and contributor of proost.co.uk, a site dedicated to providing creative resources for the church.

Penny Boshoff

Penny is married to Andrew and lives in Kent with their three teenagers, rabbit and dog. She is a member of the 4 o’clock church in Seven Oakes, and teaches at a local school.

David Bracewell

Since retirement David has established ‘Zoe Ministry’ which aims, through preaching, teaching and conducting church reviews (benign ofsteds) to encourage leaders in their task of building healthy churches. He also preaches and teaches as and when required. He is a contented husband, father, grandfather and owner of a modest sports car.

Dr Steve Brady

Steve Brady is Principal of Moorlands College. He is married with four grandchildren, hates gardening and loves football, especially Everton.

Melody Briggs

Melody works for the Lindisfarne Regional Training Partnership developing discipleship in the area of Durham. She is married, the mother of three, and the owner of one lively puppy.

Dr Richard Briggs

Richard is Lecturer in Old Testament at Cranmer Hall, St John's College, Durham.

Rev David Bruce

David was formerly the General Director of Scripture Union in Northern Ireland, and Regional Director for Britain and Ireland, the former Soviet Republics and Israel. He is currently the Secretary to the Council for Mission in Ireland for the Presbyterian Church. He and his wife Zoe have four grown-up children and live in Lisburn.

Catherine Butcher

Catherine trained as a newspaper journalist and has a master in Christian Spirituality. She has written several books and has edited a number of local, national and international publications including: Free for All, First Choice, Woman Alive, Renewal and The Christian Counsellor. She edited the BRF devotional series Day by Day with God for 10 years and is currently Communications Director for HOPE – encouraging churches to do more together in mission in words and action.
