The idea that one day the world as we know it will end is embedded in many cultures, and not just those informed by Christianity. Over the years it’s encouraged all kinds of wild speculation and predictions, but the overarching message of the Bible is that it will be a time of restoration and new life for the earth, with nothing of genuine value passing away (see Revelation 21,22).

In fact, followers of Jesus are promised a depth of union with their Lord that no one can even hope to imagine now – which will last for eternity! This is a huge reassurance as we seek to live for God now through the ups and downs of life on earth mark 1.

We asked some ordinary people if they thought they were ready for the end of the world as we know it, and here’s what they said.
